Recently we had a new fitness model Tia Denise drop by for a photo session…It was a fun session, even though we decided to head out to the beach, unfortunately the weather did not agree with us when we arrived at N. Lido. It was freezing cold and we were covered with moisture and fog! Very unpleasant shooting conditions!
Here are a few shots from the session…
Couldn’t sleep so decided to make some special effects tutorial that would cover everything from beauty retouch to backgrounds to special effects, etc… However after hours of editing…the 4 gig video did not save correctly (file won’t play)!
Sucks but oh well…here’s the final pic…
In the video I showed several examples of Special Effects, but my last one was the smoke effects so this is what you see here!
This is a really simple special effect to do in PhotoShop, it requires only the use of 3 tools! First make a new layer and select the brush tool. The brush should be fairly hard and not too big. Now draw your smoke shape with white colored brush…In this photo I drew the zigzag around the model. Next select your Smudge tool and just start smudging away to distort the lines…you will quickly see how it makes the smoke effect happen. The final step is to grab your eraser tool and take away the parts that you don’t want. For instance, if you want the smoke to go behind an object, then just erase that part of the smoke that is overlapping the object. Well thats about it…have fun!
We recently finished a shoot for Rukus clothing with our beautiful model Jess Snyder and a first time colaboration with Philip {Body Painter}. It was an early day, Philip had Jess in a 2-hour body paint session while we drank starbucks and watched comedy on YouTube! Here are a few behind the scenes shots…
So here is some quick photoshop work that ended up to look like a character from the movie “Avatar”. The effect was quite simple to achieve…Total of 5 layers required. Two layers of the same image, top layers blending mode is set to “multiply” and there is a HUE/SATURATION adjustment layer in between the two layers. Just work with the colors in the hue adjustment to get a similar blue. The dots were easily added to a new layer with a very small white brush! Eyes ofcourse are a cutout from original image and are just overlapped on the very top! Thats about it..enjoy!
